Mary Ann Ganley

November 2, 1957 — March 11, 2025

Mary Ann Ganley passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 67. Beloved daughter of the late Ignatius and Dorothy (nee Rowan) Schmitt.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan Hoffman (Daniel) and her son, Christopher Ganley. Mary Ann is also survived by her adoring granddaughter Zoey and her siblings: Paul "Marty" Schmitt, Dorothea "Sue" Hazel, Vincent Schmitt, Marlene Schmitt, Raymond Schmitt, Edward Schmitt, Catherine Schmitt, and John Schmitt.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband, best friend and love of her life, John F. Ganley. She also mourned the loss of several brothers: Michael Schmitt, Francis "Frank" Schmitt, William Schmitt, Charles "Joe" Schmitt, and Leo Schmitt. Mary Ann was an adoring Aunt to many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann, a devoted nurse and cherished member of her community, dedicated her life not only to her career in nursing but also to the countless friendships she developed with her coworkers throughout the years. Her nurturing spirit and willingness to help anyone in need made her a beloved figure among friends and family alike.

Mary Ann spent her life in Drexel Hill and Springfield but found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly her treasured times at Sea Isle City, NJ. Above all, she absolutely adored her granddaughter, Zoey Hoffman, who was a source of immense love and happiness in her life.

Mary Ann's legacy of compassion and dedication will remain in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Donohue Funeral Home located at 8401 W. Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. The funeral mass will take place the following day, March 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Ave, Springfield, PA followed by her interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
