Martha Morrissey

Martha (Marti) D. Morrissey, age 92, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Marti was born on May 24, 1928 in Belmont, MA.  She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Stanley E. Morrissey, Sr., her son, Stanley (Butch) E. Morrissey, Jr., and her daughter, Susan Tunaitis.  She is survived by her son, Gary Morrissey (Lee).  She is also survived by her five grandsons, Mark, Stanley (Ed), Bryan and Sean Morrissey, and Michael Tunaitis.  In addition, she has three step-grandchildren, Krissy, Kelly and Jason and many great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.

Marti resided at Parkview Apartments and cherished the many friendships she developed over the years.  She was a part of the Upper Chichester Senior Citizens Club and was a member of their “Nifty Ninety’s Committee”.  She also resided in New Mexico and Florida.

Family and friends knew Marti to be a kind and happy person, always having a smile on her face.  She made a positive and lasting impact on everyone she met.  Marti was full of life, loved to laugh and tell jokes. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, watching game shows and loved all animals, especially cats.  She had a passion for writing poetry. One of Marti’s favorite past times was watching the Philadelphia Phillies. If she wasn’t watching a Phillies game, she enjoyed going to the casino.

Funeral Services will take place on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Media Cemetery in Media, PA, at 11:30 AM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Masks are to be worn to the Service and Social Distancing is to be observed.
