Marlene Joseph

Marlene S. Joseph, age 74, of Broomall, PA, formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on January 20, 2018.



Born in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Eugene and Mary Magdalen (nee Rebert) Smith.



Marlene was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University, Class of 1965, and received her Masters in Adult Education from Penn State University. She was a Physical Education Teacher at Red Land High School from 1965 - 1970 and a Health Education Coordinator for Independence Blue Cross from 1979 - 1990. Marlene was employed with Scott Foresman and Company as an Editor of text books from 1990 - 1997, worked 5 years as an Editor for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and also was employed with the Chicago Tribune as an Editor for 4 years.



Marlene was the beloved wife of 37 years of the late John Henry Joseph, the loving mother of Ashley J. McGettigan (Joe), the dear sister of Barbara J. Smith and Lucinda Glassmoyer, the cherished grandmother of Lauren and John, and the dear aunt of 3 nieces, Jayne Pollock, Julia Cooper, and Jody Wood.



Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service, Saturday, January 27, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2191 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Interment private.



In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163, would be appreciated.
