Mark A. Scheivert

Oct 19, 1969 — Oct 14, 2026

Media, PA

Mark Andrew Scheivert, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026 at age 57. Mark was the son of C. Edward Scheivert, who predeceased him in 2015, and Winifred Brown Scheivert of Media, Pennsylvania.

In childhood, Mark was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church and attended the same elementary school. He went on to attend Cardinal O’Hara High School and Penn State University. Family and friends will recount that Mark was the life of every party, with a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Mark loved being active, from tennis to skiing to hunting in his favorite spot, Potter County, Pennsylvania. His positive energy was magnetic, and his wit and sense of humor rivaled only that of his Dad’s.

At age eighteen, Mark was involved in a serious automobile accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury which changed his life permanently. His faith and the dedication of his family allowed him to stabilize and return to live at home with his parents, who cared for him diligently and loved him unconditionally. Mark was also supported by his siblings, Eric (Mary Beth) of Wilmington, Delaware, Gary of Kennett Square, Andrea Connors (Ken) of West Chester, and Kurt (Kelly) of West Chester, and thirteen nieces and nephews who brought him great joy.

While Mark was limited in his life after his accident, he was blessed to have wonderful care, and still showed off his contagious smile. He enjoyed holidays, family gatherings, and his dog, Baxter. He also continued to be faithful, and was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle. Most importantly, Mark continued to laugh–especially when his siblings told stories of his many teenage adventures. Mark’s life was truly a gift, and he was a gift to those around him. The family wishes to thank his many caregivers over the years, particularly Kendal, Kristle, Lai, and Tina, who treated him with kindness and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mark’s visitation on October 21, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Thomas the Apostle in Glen Mills. Interment will take place after mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, where Mark was able to regain his ability to flash that smile and charm those around him.
