Mark M. Hughes

Mark M. Hughes, a distinguished individual whose life was defined by service, bravery, and love for his family, friends, and his country, left this world on April 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will endure through the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Born in Mahanoy City, PA, Mark's journey was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to his country and community. His illustrious career as a Petrochemical Safety Engineer for Fluor International Construction bore testament to his commitment to ensuring the safety of others. Prior to this role, he served in the Philadelphia P.D. Bomb Squad, displaying courage and resilience in the face of danger.

Sports also held a special place in Mark's heart, having showcased his talent and prowess as a professional athlete with stints playing for the Raiders and Dolphins in the NFL. His competitive spirit and love for the game endeared him to many fans who admired his skill on the field.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mark will be remembered for his deep love of the family, especially his cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends chosen as family. He found joy in their presence and treasured every moment spent with them.

Mark's dedication extended to his military service, where he displayed extraordinary valor during five tours in Vietnam. His bravery earned him accolades such as Purple Heart, a Silver Star, and a Bronze Star with combat V. exemplifying his patriotism and selflessness.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife Donna Cozzens, who joined him in his adventures for more than 35 years. He is also remembered fondly by many loving friends and neighbors who were fortunate to have him in their life.

Lancaster Ave, Wayne, PA 19087 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at St. Norbert Church, 50 Leopard Rd., Paoli, PA 19301.
