Marilyn "Lynn" Rose McGrane

Marilyn “Lynn” Rose McGrane, 76, of Malvern, PA passed away suddenly on August 28, 2026.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Marie (née Dybicz) McGrane.

Lynn was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School, Cardinal O’Hara High School and West Chester University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in art/art history. Her career in retail spanned 38 years, more than 20 of which were as general manager at both John Wanamaker and Bloomingdales. She managed stores in the Philadelphia region, Washington D.C. and Boca Raton.

She was known for her very creative employee motivation programs. She enjoyed working with and was respected by every member of the team. She sponsored fund-raising events in partnership with numerous charitable organizations. She served on the PAFA advisory board for fashion merchandising. She lectured at Drexel University Department of Fashion, Design and Merchandizing on branding and contributed to the publication of a text book for the Fashion Design Industry.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, and gardening, but nothing mattered more to her than caring for the people she loved.

Lynn was the dear sister of Judith McGrane, James J. McGrane (Louise), Edward F. McGrane, Christopher J. McGrane, and the late John E. McGrane (Sharon); beloved aunt of James, David, Allison and Michael McGrane. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, cousins and her close circle of friends for 55 years, Terri DiGiorgio, Catherine Fitzgerald, Kathy Reichel and Kathleen Coyne.

Family and friends are invited to her Visitation, Saturday, September 5, 2026, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM and to her Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Ave, Havertown, PA 19083. Interment private.
