Marie McVeigh

Marie Elizabeth McVeigh (nee Monteverde) of Drexel Hill, PA, was born in Brooklyn, NY to Paul and Amelia Monteverde (nee Devoto).
Marie was predeceased by her husband Thomas A. McVeigh, and is survived by her children, Thomas Paul McVeigh and his wife Laurie, Joseph Aloysis McVeigh and his wife Gaye, Marie Emily McVeigh and her husband Bruce Kiesel, and Anne Ines McVeigh; her grandchildren, Thomas, Kimberly, Ian and Sean; and her sister, Ines Monteverde.
Marie passed peacefully from this place on Wednesday morning, March 21, 2018 amidst a snowstorm on the first day of Spring. Her 97th birthday was just days before on March 18.
And so it is - that life and death, sadness and celebration are mingled.
Her loss is a thing of cold and hazard, but that is just a covering over the vitality, enthusiasm and humor of her life.
The snow will melt, and time will bring us away from the pain of her dying, and back to a celebration of her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, March 26, 2018 9:30-10:30 AM Holy Cross Church, 140 E. Mt. Airy Avenue, Philadelphia, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
