Maria Bernadette (Pimpinelli) Vinall, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and cherished member of her church community, passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 78.

For 59 years, Maria was the devoted wife and life partner of Phillip E. Vinall. They met when Maria was just 17 and married when she was 19, beginning a remarkable life together filled with family, careers, adventure, travel, and an enduring love that carried them through nearly six decades.

Maria was a devoted and supportive wife, an extraordinary mother and grandmother, and a highly accomplished professional. She was also legendary among family and friends for her immaculate and incredibly organized home. There was truly a place for everything, and everything was always in its place. She was a wonderful cook and hostess who took great pride in creating a beautiful and welcoming home for the people she loved. At the same time, she built an accomplished career and somehow managed to do it all while remaining the beautiful, stylish woman she had always been.

As a mother, Maria led by example. She showed her daughter that a woman could love deeply without losing her independence, devote herself to her family while still pursuing her own ambitions, and be strong without ever sacrificing her warmth. Through the way she lived, she demonstrated that there was no contradiction between being a wonderful wife and mother and being an intelligent, capable, accomplished woman.

Maria's intelligence, curiosity, and determination were especially evident in her professional life. Although she did not follow a traditional college path, she was a lifelong learner who took college courses as an adult simply because she wanted to continue educating herself. She was far more interested in gaining knowledge than collecting a degree. Largely self-taught, Maria went on to build an impressive career as a medical writer and businesswoman, proving through her own life that education and accomplishment are not defined by a diploma.

Maria also possessed a wonderful sense of adventure. She embraced life with curiosity and courage, whether traveling to new places, riding on the back of a motorcycle, or simply being willing to try something new. She had a fearlessness about her and a belief that life was meant to be lived fully.

Her faith was a constant throughout her life. Maria was a devoted member of Saints Simon and Jude Parish, and her faith provided strength, purpose, and community throughout the many seasons of her life.

Of all the roles Maria held throughout her life, being a grandmother to Evan and Riley brought her immeasurable joy. She loved them deeply, was enormously proud of them, and made certain they always knew just how much they were loved. The relationship she shared with her grandchildren was one of the greatest treasures of her life.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Bernitto Pimpinelli, and her brothers, Benjamin and John Pimpinelli.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Phil; her daughter, Winter Gocke and her husband, Eric; her beloved grandchildren, Evan and Riley Gocke; and the many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing and loving her.

She leaves behind a family that is better and stronger because of her, and an extraordinary love story that began when she was 17 and endured for the rest of her life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Maria's life Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Saints Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct, West Chester, PA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
