Maria Tuoi Thi Dinh

Maria Tuoi Thi Dinh, formerly of Havertown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in her home in Springfield, Virginia on December 29, 2025. She was born in Thuc-Hoa, Vietnam where she met and married Son Kim Dinh, her husband of 73 years. He was with her as she joined her daughter Thuy and grandson Christopher in God’s loving embrace.

After moving to South Vietnam in 1954, Tuoi raised a large family and ran a successful business despite the challenges of the war. She emigrated to the United States as a refugee in 1975 and worked tirelessly to build a comfortable life for her family while retaining the traditions of her homeland. She was a devout Catholic who attended mass whenever she could and actively supported the Vietnamese Catholic communities and charities throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, dominos, and traveling, and generously shared her passions with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her eight children, Goddaughter, and their spouses: Thuhanh Nguyen (Lang), Ha (Trang), Tuan (Nga), Vinh (Jessica), Lauren Sustersic (Frank), Mai, Cuong (Lucy), Phong (Lindsay), and Mai Nguyen (Khang). She will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, God-grandchildren, and their spouses: Elizabeth Nguyen (Tri), Theresa Nguyen (Allan), Josephine Philippe (Florian), Christina Nguyen, Stephanie Nguyen, Nha-Uyen Dinh, Thuc-Nhi Dinh, Thu-Thuy Koehler (Zach), Thomas Dinh, Alysa Dinh, Timothy Dinh, Angelina Dinh, Jacob Sustersic, Nicholas Sustersic, Madelyn Dinh, Oliver Dinh, Natalie Dinh, Catherine Nguyen, Christopher Nguyen, Tyler Dinh, James Rocco Nguyen, Ava Nguyen, Mia Nguyen, Lucy Nguyen, Liem Nguyen, Charles Philippe, Liliana Philippe, Chloe Philippe, Miles Koehler, and Theodore Koehler.

Family and friends are invited to honor Tuoi’s life and legacy at a viewing on Friday evening, January 9, 2026, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. On Saturday, January 10, 2026, a second viewing will take place 9:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment thereafter will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
