Maria Cavaliere

Maria Cavaliere (nee Teta), age 90, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on November 19,  2023.  Beloved daughter of the late Armando and Rosina (nee Giove) Teta.

Maria was predeceased by her adoring husband, Salvatore Cavaliere. She is survived by her sons, John (Rosa), Carmen (Dee), and Armand (Jackie) Cavaliere; grandchildren, Salvatore (Genae), Maria (Chris), Armandino (Gianna), Natalia (Anthony), Alex (Paige), Gina, Laura, Julia, and Nina; great-grandchildren; Damien, Maria, Ariana, Dylan, Raymond, Angelina and Milania; her sister Carmella DeVito (the late Salvatore) and brother Joseph Teta (Jeanne).

Maria had many loves and was so very talented.  She was a perfectionist when cooking and made everything from scratch; fresh from the farm or from her own garden. Her specialties included homemade pizza, pastries, and creampuffs. 

Maria was a professionally trained seamstress and worked for James and Sons in Philadelphia.  There she designed and sewn the costumes for the likes of the Mummers and Elvis Presley, as well as Elvis's capes.  Maria loved knitting and crocheting.  

She was devoted to her Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Laurence Parish for many decades.

Her greatest love was her family and cherished friends. She touched the heart of all those she met and will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Tuesday, November 21^st from 6pm to 8pm at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. Funeral Mass 10am on Wednesday, November 22 at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA, followed by her Interment at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 215 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA.
