Margaret "Peggy" Rominger, 89, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024. Peggy was born in Atlantic City, NJ, in January 1935 to the late Mary Ellen (Collins) Meade and Thomas Meade. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Rominger.
Peggy and Ed's love story makes for a great movie. They met at the Rominger corner grocery store in West Philadelphia in her teens and became immediately smitten. Peggy waited for Ed as he served two tours of duty post-WWII to marry in 1954. She carried that love into motherhood, raising her three boys, Ed, Steve, and Greg, with fierce devotion. Peggy's heart was always full when the family was gathered around the dining room table, bantering, telling tales, and the laughing.
Peggy (Mom-Mom) adored her grandchildren Lauren, Alison, Sean, and Scott, and great-grandchildren Julian, Landon, Charlotte, Finn, and Ellie. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Taggart. Family and friends are invited to Peggy's Visitation on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Kevin's Catholic Church, 200 W Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA, followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment is at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peggy's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
