Margaret MacNeal

Margaret “Peggy” MacNeal, of West Chester, PA, a cherished soul whose warmth touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at the age of 60.

Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Barry and Jane S. (née Scattergood) MacNeal.

Peggy loved animals—cats, dogs, and especially horses, a love born from her youth as an avid rider. Peggy also loved to travel spending time in Colorado, and she was deeply interested in politics, enjoying lively political discussions.

Yet, above all else, Peggy treasured her family. She was a devoted aunt, a steady source of love and attention to her many nieces and nephews, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and unwavering support.

Peggy also loved her own “Aunties” Ann, Pat, Chrissy, and Kathie as well as countless cousins whom she loved spending time with, often opening her home for visits, and to show off her garden, particularly her mom’s peonies. 

Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Robert Katherine; the loving sister of John Barry MacNeal, Peter J. MacNeal (Lori), Jane Korab (Ed), Stephanie Catalano, Sean P. MacNeal, Patrick MacNeal (Liz), and the late Andrew F. MacNeal. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation to honor Peggy’s memory will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass commencing at 10:30 AM. Interment thereafter at St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA.
