Margaret M. Girard

Margaret M. Girard (nee O’Connor), 93 of Newtown Square, PA passed away on January 4^th, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late Maurice O’Connor and Sara (nee McCunney) O’Connor.

Margaret was the loving mother of Denise Pascucci (Donald), Patricia Van Sciver (Gary), Andrea Girard, Susan Damico (Christopher), and Robert Girard (Lisa). She was also a dear sister to Maureen Preston, Barbara Mooney (Edward), and the late Joan O’Neil.

Margaret was a devoted Grandmother to her grandchildren Michael, Robert (Elvia), Jonathan, Madison, Sarah, Connor, Katharine, Jacob, Grace, Aislinn and her great-grandchildren Milagro, and Emily.

For Margaret, family came first in her life. She was extremely intelligent, caring yet strong, very generous and independent. She was an avid reader and loved to learn. She also enjoyed nature. As a graduate of Rosemont College, her passion in her work as a Chemist made it clear she was an overall lover of all sciences.

Margaret enjoyed spending time at home, and loved her family. She was an amazing intelligent woman and a friend to all.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, January 14, 2023 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
