Margaret DeStefano (née Moore), of Radnor, PA, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Ocean City, NJ, her favorite beach town and a place filled with treasured family memories. She was 78 years old.
Born on October 21, 1946, Margaret was the daughter of the late Margaret Moore (née Delaney) and Albert Moore. She grew up in a loving home alongside her siblings Kathleen Moore, Patricia Estes (Russell), and Kenneth Moore (Donna), forming bonds that remained strong throughout her life.
Margaret was the devoted wife of William A. DeStefano and the loving mother of Christine Brunelli (Matthew), Jacqueline Moroz (Nathaniel), Michael DeStefano, and Katherine DeStefano. She was a proud and deeply devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Lucia, Emilia, Megan, Abigail, Gianna, and Antonio.
In addition to being the heart of her family, Margaret dedicated nearly 20 years to shaping young minds as an elementary and preschool teacher. She brought warmth, patience, and compassion into her classroom every day, touching the lives of countless children and families. Margaret graduated from Cabrini College in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary education where she learned the skills needed to be the best teacher she could be for her students.
Margaret was guided by a strong Catholic faith that anchored her throughout her life. Her beliefs were evident in the way she lived - quietly generous, unfailingly kind, and devoted to the well-being of others. Her faith was her compass, giving her strength through every season of life and inspiring those around her.
Known by all who loved her as the most selfless person in the world, Margaret was loyal, nurturing, and full of grace. From home-cooked meals to heartfelt advice, from showing up at every milestone to creating simple, joyful moments, she gave her whole heart to those she loved.
Summers at the shore held a special place in her heart, and Ocean City, NJ became the backdrop for countless family memories, filled with laughter, love, and the ocean breeze she adored.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 9:45 to 10:50 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church – Main Campus, 800 E. Lancaster Ave, Villanova, PA 19085. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshocken, PA.
Margaret’s legacy lives on in the deep love she gave, the lives she shaped, and the faith that guided her. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
