Margaret M. Crowe

Margaret M. “Peggie” Crowe (nee Coyle), of Havertown, PA, passed away on November 25, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary Coyle (nee O’Brien).

Peggie was the beloved wife of the late John Edward Crowe, who enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together and raised their family in Havertown.  She was the loving mother of John V. Crowe, Brian D. Crowe (Jolie), Brendan P. Crowe (Rosanne), and Sheila A. Crowe; devoted grandmother of Timothy, Daniel (Lauren), Ryan, Nicholas, and Catherine; adoring great-grandmother of Magnus. Peggie was the devoted sister of Eileen Yoast (the late Robert), and the late Catherine “Polly” Traynor and Elizabeth “Betty” McDevitt; she is also survived by her much-loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Peggie was a graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls’ High School and Misericordia Hospital Nursing School.  She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at Hahnemann Hospital and worked for many years at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital. Her career as a nurse spanned over 50 years until her retirement in 2009.

Peggie and John loved spending time at their home in Ocean City, NJ, entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, including trips to Bermuda, Ireland, Italy, and going on many cruises. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her many friends, most especially with her grandchildren.

Peggie was a devout Catholic who attended Mass, received the Holy Eucharist, and prayed the Rosary regularly. She was always taking care of others and going out of her way to help anyone in any way she could.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 and 9:30-10:30 AM on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Annunciation BVM Parish, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA 19083, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
