Madeline Spatichia, age 93, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on January 4, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ruth (née Cellucci) Ceriale.
Madeline had many different jobs during her lifetime. She worked as a switchboard operator, then in retail, a nanny, and a bank teller. She juggled all these part-time jobs while being a full-time homemaker.
Madeline loved her family and enjoyed celebrating birthdays, Christmas, and especially Easter Brunch. She loved watching the Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State football games. She really enjoyed a “nice, hot cup of tea” especially at 3:00 PM while she watched her favorite “story”, General Hospital. Madeline loved going down the Shore and took great pleasure in trips to Sea Isle City, Wildwood, and Cape May, NJ.
Madeline was predeceased by her beloved husband, James “Menu” Spatichia, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her 5 loving children, Joanne Rossell (Howard), Lorraine Stiefel, Anthony Spatichia (Agnes), Deborah Young (John), and Judith Hemmert. She was the adored Mom Mom to her 11 grandchildren and beloved G-Mom to her 15 great-grandchildren. Madeline is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Madeline was predeceased by her siblings, Marie Kreamer, Matthew Ceriale Gloria Ceriale, Lucy Cellucci, Barbara Hoch, and Anthony Ceriale.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 9:00 to 10:30 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008, followed by her Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
