Luke Barone, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 22, 1941, Luke dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his country. Family was everything to him—being together with those he loved was his favorite place to be.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Annette; his children John (Beth), Sharon, Ann (Ted), and Christopher (Jeanette); his brother Robert (Liz); and his sisters Carolyn and Linda. He was a proud grandfather to Adam (Lauren), Mia (Connor), Megan (Roman), Cayla, JR, Annie, Devyn, Tristen, Carley, Luke, Olivia, Stella, and cherished great-grandfather to Emory, Noah, and Sloane. Luke also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews where he was proud to be called “Uncle.”
Luke took immense pride in his family, especially his children and grandchildren. One of his greatest joys came from watching his great-grandchildren grow and play together. He was a good listener who offered sound advice and believed deeply in the value of hard work and integrity. Anyone who had the good fortune to meet Luke holds a memory to be cherished—one that will carry them through the toughest of days.
A hardworking man with unmatched dedication, Luke owned and operated his own plumbing business for more than 50 years. His clients quickly became friends, and his reputation for honesty, craftsmanship, and care reflected the pride he took in his work.
Luke was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Willard Keith and was fondly remembered as the “Oil King.” He cherished the lifelong friendships he made with his shipmates and looked forward to their annual reunions, where stories and laughter were shared as freely as in the days they served together.
Luke also served on the board of the Main Line Center of the Arts and spent 42 years as a member of the Main Line Lions International where he widened his generosity and kindness in selfless service of the community.
Beyond his work and service, Luke loved to travel and never turned down the chance to enjoy a good meal with great company.
Luke’s warmth, grace, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the love he shared, the family he built, and the many lives he touched.
Services: A memorial mass will be held on November 19, 2025 at 11:30 am at SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in West Chester, PA. Visitation will take place before the service at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mainline Health Homecare and Hospice or to the United States Veterans in Luke’s memory.
