Luis Maria Meira, 82, of Exton Pennsylvania, formerly of Miami, Florida and Buenos Aires, Argentina, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 at Paoli Hospital.
Born January 16, 1943 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Luis Meira was an avid tennis player and distinguished gentleman known for his sense of humor. Luis was a medical student when he married his late wife Marta, a high-fashion model, in 1965. Luis and Marta came to the U.S. in 1967 to continue his studies, and together in 1968 they launched the Marta Meira School of Modeling, to which he eventually devoted his full-time attention. Over the next two decades, they educated thousands of Miami’s young people in modeling skills, fashion and make-up, social etiquette, interior design, photography, and broadcasting.
Later, after relocating to Pennsylvania, Luis returned to the medical world by working for Siemens in Malvern. Marta passed away in June 2012 in Argentina, and Luis returned to Chester County, where for the last ten years of his life, he worked as a full-time Guest Service Representative with Extended Stay America in Great Valley.
Although he leaves behind no close family, Luis is warmly remembered and sorely missed by close friends, Ruben and Karina Ortiz of Downingtown, former student, Ana Piel of Exton, and numerous co-workers and guests from Extended Stay America.
According to Luis’ wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes scattered in the ocean off Mar de Plata, Argentina to join those of his late wife, Marta Meira.
Friends wishing to honor Luis’ memory may do so with a contribution to the Paoli Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Fund, https://www.mainlinehealth.org/specialties/palliative-care#Giving.
