Lucy Schu

November 16, 1920 — August 10, 2018

Lucy Marks Schu, 97, of West Chester, passed away August 10,

2018.

Born November 16, 1920 in Minersville, PA, she was a daughter

of the late John and Lottie (nee Witcofsky) Marks.

Lucy worked early on for RCA in Camden, NJ. Later she worked

for years as an Executive Assistant in the Pennsylvania State

Senate in Harrisburg, where she also raised her family.

Lucy enjoyed being with her family above all. She and her

husband George delighted in taking the kids to visit family in the

Coal Regions. Later, as the kids grew out of the house and

dispersed in pursuit of their own careers, Lucy and George made

frequent trips to see them in Spain, Italy and California. Lucy was

also an afficionado of the shore. She relished visiting a family

house in Cape May where she delighted in sitting on the porch,

having conversations with admiring visitors and watching life go

by.

She was the beloved wife of the late George John Schu; loving

mother of George Schu (Theresa), Sally Schu, and Timothy Schu

(Donna); dear sister of Rosemarie Bevan, Jean Anne Marks and

Kathy McDermott. She was predeceased by sister Dolores

Torney. Lucy was a devoted and adoring grandmother of 4

grandchildren: Colleen Michael, Christopher (Claire) and Mark

Schu and 3 great-grandchildren, Viviana, Giorgio and Liam

Luccioli, with a fourth great-grandchild on the way.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation 9-10 AM Thursday,

August 16, 2018 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant

Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382 followed by a Funeral Mass

at 10 AM. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Catholic Charities

would be appreciated.
