Lucia Poletto Comerford

Lucia Poletto Comerford, 83, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026 at Barclay Friends in West Chester, PA.

She was born June 6, 1942 in Salcedo, Italy to Valentino and Ortensia Poletto. She immigrated to the United States in 1954, settling with her family in the Hudson Valley. She is a 1962 graduate of Hudson High School.

Lucia worked as an administrative assistant for the school district of Hudson and later for the school district of Cortland. She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed reading, gardening, hiking, cooking and sharing food of Northern Italian tradition, and most of all, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lucia was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Peter Comerford. She is survived by her son, Michael Comerford (Eileen) and her daughter, Monica Church (John). She is also survived by one sister, Maria Rushkoski and two brothers, John Poletto and Marco Poletto (Victoria), five grandchildren, Delany, Ronan, Keegan, James and Nora, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Lucia's Viewing 9:30-10:45 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at St. Katherine of Siena 104 S Aberdeen Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087 followed by her mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
