Louis A. Malandra, Jr. passed away June 11, 2026. Beloved son of the late Luigi and Ida (nee Mirra) Malandra. Louis is survived by his son Richard A. Malandra and daughter-in-law Maria Malandra; Granddaughter, Nicole Malandra; sisters, Rita McGee (late Jack), Marion Vellucci (Frank); sister-in-law, Teresa Teti (Nick); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Maria (nee Angelucci) Malandra, as well as his siblings, Marie Perri (Frank) and Ralph Malandra (Jean).
Louie lived a vibrant life, graduating from Bok Vocational High School and shortly after serving in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War from 1952-1956. He married his beloved wife in 1967 and welcomed his only son in 1968. Louie loved to spend his time with his family and friends, and would light up any room he walked into, especially with his infectious laugh. He had a passion for projects, and made a career out of woodworking. One of the many pastimes that he enjoyed was his bowling league that he was a proud member of. Growing up in the Philadelphia area, Louie was a proud Philly sports fan, always rooting for the Eagles. Louie spent the later years of his life helping his son and daughter-in-law raise their daughter, his beloved granddaughter, Nicole. Although quiet at first, Louie had many stories that he loved to tell about his times growing up, and all of the shenanigans he got into. He enjoyed sharing his life with others and deeply touched the lives of everyone he met, even in passing. He will forever be remembered as doing everything “his way;” with love and kindness. He will always be greatly missed and loved by so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to Louis’s viewing on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA followed by his funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
