Louis Anthony DiGregorio

Louis Anthony DiGregorio, 83, of North Wildwood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, surrounded by his children.

Born in Philadelphia on March 12, 1943, Lou was the beloved son of the late Guerino and Oliviera (Fani) DiGregorio. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School and earned a degree in Architecture from Kansas State University. Throughout his life, Lou was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. To many children he met along the way, he was a cherished "second father."

As the son of Italian immigrants, Lou never forgot his humble beginnings. Those early experiences shaped his deep compassion for others and inspired a lifelong commitment to helping people in need, whether family, friends, or complete strangers. Generous by nature, he gave selflessly whenever he saw an opportunity to make someone's life a little easier.

At the center of Lou's life was his beloved wife, Carmella. Together they built a loving home and family during their 49 years of marriage, creating a legacy that continues through their children and grandchildren.

That same devotion was evident in the way he loved and supported his family. He was always there for his children, offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. He also made it a point to share his passions with the next generation, taking his nephews and nieces fishing and crabbing whenever they came to visit, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Lou was also a highly respected and successful businessman. His clients were far more than business associates; many became lifelong friends. His generosity extended into his professional life, where he frequently donated his services to religious organizations of all denominations. As a businessman and resident of North Wildwood for more than 50 years, Lou left a lasting and positive impact on his community, throughout Cape May County, and across the greater Philadelphia area. One of his proudest accomplishments was receiving the Preservation Achievement Award in 1999 from the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.

Above all else, Lou's greatest joy and proudest role was being "Pop Pop" to his grandsons, AJ and Dillon. He treasured every Sunday spent with them and every moment he was able to be part of their lives.

Lou will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, unwavering devotion to his family, and the countless lives he touched. Whether through his work, his friendships, or the simple acts of kindness he extended to others, he made people feel valued and cared for. His legacy of love, service, and friendship will live on in all who knew him.

Lou was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmella, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his eight siblings: Irma Bianco, Rose DeFeo, Andrew DiGregorio, Theresa Grant, Gloria DiGregorio, John DiGregorio, Dr. Guerino J. DiGregorio, and Richard DiGregorio.

He is survived by his children, Louis W. DiGregorio, Danielle DiGregorio (Scott Wiley), Anthony J. DiGregorio, and Kristen DiGregorio; his beloved grandsons, AJ and Dillon; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were enriched by his love, guidance, and generosity.
