Drexel Hill

Lorraine Bonsall, age 67, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Edith Hopson (nee Olsen).

Lorraine exemplified the virtues of steadfastness and loyalty throughout her illustrious career as the Business Office Coordinator for Elwyn, where she dedicated an impressive 44 years of her life. Her colleagues admired her for not just her exceptional professionalism, but also for the warmth and kindness she brought into the workplace, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and support. Lorraine's contributions were invaluable and her impact will be felt by all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

As a devoted wife, mother, and mom mom, Lorraine poured her heart and soul into her family. She was often found nurturing and supporting her loved ones, embodying the essence of familial love. Her legacy will undoubtedly be carried forth through those who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her adoring son and grandson, who will remember her not just as a guiding light, but also as their strongest advocate and confidante.

A woman of varied passions, Lorraine was not only known for her steadfast work ethic but also for her fervent enthusiasm for the Philadelphia Flyers. Her love of the team was infectious; gatherings during game nights were a blend of spirited debates and shared joys, a reflection of the vibrant life she led. Lorraine infused joy into the lives of those around her with small yet meaningful gestures—most notably her tradition of being first to send out Christmas cards each year, a delightful act that never failed to bring warmth during the holiday season.

Lorraine was the beloved wife of Daniel Bonsall; loving mother of Daniel Hopson Sr.; adoring grandmother of Daniel F. Hopson Jr.; caring sister of Linda Henry, Patricia Foanio, Susan Sweeney, Francis Hopson, Kathleen Collins, and the late Karen McMullen.
