Lorraine Ahearn

Lorraine C. Ahearn (nee Hopely), age 79, of Havertown, PA, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away on June 10, 2021.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Marie Hopely (nee Walsh).
Lorraine was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia, PA.
Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel W. Ahearn, Sr., her loving children Daniel W. Ahearn, Jr. (Bernadette), Michael Ahearn (Joanna), Paul J. Ahearn (Paula) and John G. Ahearn (Colleen).   Dear grandmother to Danny, Rebecca, Kelly, Jennifer, Brendan, John-Paul, Allison, Michael, Patrick, and Audrey.   Also survived by her sister, Joan Dougherty (John) and her cousin and friend Kathleen “Kass” Farrell.   Sister of the late Nancy McCafferty, Marie Ward and James Hopely, Jr.
Lorraine was full of life and loved to dance and sing. She enjoyed traveling with her close friends from Southwest Philly, and enjoyed her summers at the shore in Ocean City. Lorraine and her husband Dan were big supporters of West Catholic sending all four of their sons to West and attending many West Catholic functions including Burrs at the Beach.
She adored her grandchildren attending many recitals and sporting events. She loved her sons and her daughter-in-laws who quickly became the daughters she never had. But more than anything she loved her husband Dan and the time they spent together traveling and living life.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday, June 15, 2021 6:00-8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA and Wednesday, June 16, 2021 9:30-10:20 AM Sacred Heart Church, Manoa and Shelbourne Roads, Havertown, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.   Interment will be private.
