Loretta E. Wilhelm

May 19, 1949 — May 31, 2024

Philadelphia

Loretta E. Wilhelm (nee Armideo), age 75, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on May 31, 2024. Born in 1949, she was the daughter of the late Alessio and Elizabeth Armideo (nee Marabito).

She was a woman of unwavering faith, whose love for gospel music, old Italian songs, and country music filled her home with joy and warmth. Loretta had a love for animals and was often found feeding stray cats in the neighborhood.  But perhaps Loretta's greatest joy came from her nieces and nephews, and her great nieces and nephews, whom she adored and cherished with all her heart. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family, always there with a kind word, a listening ear, and a warm embrace. In addition to her love for music and family, Loretta was an avid reader who could often be found lost in the pages of a good book.

Loretta retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 2011 after 42 years. She held several positions at the bank with the last position being in the Fraud Department.

Loretta was an active member the Overbrook Assembly of God Church and served in various leadership roles.  Her thirst for knowledge and love of storytelling inspired all who knew her, and her wisdom and guidance will be greatly missed. Though we mourn the loss of Loretta we take comfort knowing that she is at peace and reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to inspire us for years to come. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Loretta was the beloved wife of Christopher A. Wilhelm and caring sister of Lucy Norvick, Domenic Armideo (MaryJane), Lena Armideo, Betty Cotton (the late Kelly), Tina Ray (Joe), Theresa Tarducci (Anthony), and Anthony Armideo (Crystal). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Loretta was predeceased by her brothers, Nicholas Armideo and Alessio Armideo Jr.
