Leo M. Fine Jr. passed away peacefully at home on August 9, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his three children, Elizabeth, Leo, and Stephen; his daughter-in-law, Sia; and his three cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Lea, and Rebecca Fine. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Conroy Fine.
A highly skilled craftsman, Leo was recognized as the top welder on the Apollo 13 project. He served as president of Local 802 Boilermakers and Blacksmiths and dedicated 35 years to Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock. Following its closure, he founded East Coast Metal Fabricators, continuing his lifelong dedication to precision and excellence in his trade.
Outside of work, Leo shared his talents and energy with the community. He coached football for the township and Sun Valley High School, inspiring countless young athletes. A man of many passions, he was also a gifted painter, gardener, and woodcarver.
Above all, Leo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His kindness, dedication, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
