Leah McGettigan (McIntosh) 74 of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 24th 2023, after her brave fight with Interstitial Lung Disease. Leah was born on December 16th 1948 in Philadelphia, where she lived most of her life always close to family. After graduating from West Catholic High School in 1966, Leah spent 20 years working for Penn Central Bank, and 20 years working for The Philadelphia Carpenters Union.
Leah married the love of her life Ed, and helped raise her niece LeeAnn Sullivan and her two children Brenden Sullivan, Anton Martin as if they were their own.
Leah was known for being generous and always being there to support her family. She never missed a birthday, or a call on a holiday. Leah enjoyed her annual OCNJ family vacation, where she always made it a point to donate to the local Cat Animal Rescue. After retiring, she was able to buy her dream car. Leah enjoyed shopping, and loved to take trips to the craft fairs with her sister.
Leah was predeceased by her parents John McIntosh and Elizabeth McIntosh (Hanrahan), her sister Eileen McIntosh Sullivan, and her brother John McIntosh. Leah is survived by her husband Ed McGettigan, her niece and nephews LeeAnn Sullivan, Brenden Sullivan and Anton Martin. Leah also survives her siblings Betty Caiazzo (McIntosh) (Gus), Regina Deangelantonio (Art), Rosemary Eller (Rick), David McIntosh, and Michael McIntosh. Leah also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly as well as her cats that she adored, Willow and Baby Girl (Heart and Soul).
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Lung Association, PO Box 756, Osceola, WI 54020, lung.org, would be appreciated.
