Lawrence Joseph Cellucci

Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Cellucci, 73, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026.

Born on December 27, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Larry was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Anna (née Ferraiolo) Cellucci. He carried throughout his life the values of loyalty, faith, and devotion to family that defined the man he became.

Larry was a proud graduate of Haverford High School, Class of 1971. He began his career as a skilled meat cutter and later dedicated many years to the grocery industry, retiring as a Dairy and Frozen Food Manager. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dependability and friendly nature.

While Larry worked hard throughout his life, it was his family that brought him his greatest joy. He was the proud and loving father of Michele Strehlau (Matthew), Rebecca Brenen (Kevin), and Gina Conigliaro (Giovanni). His daughters were the center of his world, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others how proud he was of them and all they had accomplished.

His greatest role, however, may have been that of "Grandpop." Larry adored his grandchildren, Siena, Johnny, Mya, Viviana, Layla, Vincent, and Valeria, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than talking about them, spending time with them, or hearing about their latest achievements. The love he had for his family was limitless, and they felt it every day.

Larry is also survived by his sister, Joanne Nye (Robert) and nieces, Lindsey Davis (Drew) and Lori Grizzle (Andrew), and by ex-wife and mother of his children, Gladys DiCanio, as well as many friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

To know Larry was to know a kind and gentle soul. He loved cooking meals for his family and bringing everyone together around the table. He was an avid collector of coins and movies, especially those starring Steven Seagal, and enjoyed spending time watching his favorite television series. Some of Larry's happiest moments were spent outdoors, whether taking a peaceful walk or gardening and caring for tomato plants. Larry had a special connection with animals and a deep love for all creatures, especially his beloved dog, Angie. Animals seemed naturally drawn to his gentle nature.

A lifelong lover of 70s rock music, Larry could often be found listening to the songs that brought back fond memories. He loved hockey and was an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports fan who especially loved the Broad Street Bullies-era Flyers and the Phillies, though he proudly cheered for all of Philadelphia's teams.

Larry had a gift for making people smile. His playful sense of humor, and genuine concern for others made him someone people gravitated toward. He was the person who would call just to check in, ask how you were doing, and make sure everything was okay. Small acts of kindness came naturally to him.

Most importantly, Larry was a man of faith. He prayed often, especially for his children and grandchildren, asking for God's protection and blessings upon them. His faith gave him strength throughout his life and guided him in caring for those he loved.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind: the meals he lovingly prepared, the laughter he shared, the stories he told, and the unwavering love he gave so freely. His family will forever remember him as a sweet and loving man, a devoted grandfather, a loyal friend, and above all, the best dad anyone could ever ask for.

His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the love he leaves behind.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, at St. Christopher’s Church, 116 Lancaster Pike, Oxford, PA 19363.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry's name may be made to Pocopson Home, 1695 Lenape Road, West Chester, PA 19382.

The family is forever grateful for the genuine compassion, unwavering care, and treasured friendships that enriched Larry's days at Pocopson Home.

Larry will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
