Lauren Mary O’Neill Deets age 49 of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania entered into heaven on July 24, 2026. She passed away peacefully at her beloved home on Featherfield Farm, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous journey marked by extraordinary grace, steadfast faith, and remarkable strength.
Born in Media on June 28, 1977, to Patrick O'Neill and Susan Paul, Lauren devoted her life to faith, family, music, and service. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, she met the love of her life, Doug, with whom she built a beautiful life centered on love and raising their adored sons, Jackson and Lucas. Lauren was a gifted teacher and cherished member of the Sacred Heart community in Bryn Mawr, where she faithfully led the music ministry for decades. Known for her angelic voice, she brought comfort, joy, and hope to countless weddings, baptisms, funerals, and Masses. Beyond music, Lauren had a gift for bringing people together - whether around her family table, through her selfless acts of kindness, or by encouraging others to recognize their own strength and worth.
Lauren will be remembered as a devoted wife, extraordinary mother, beautiful daughter, cherished sister, faithful friend, and a woman whose love touched every life she encountered.
As Susan’s only child Lauren held a place in her mother’s heart that no one else could ever fill. Susan remained faithfully by Lauren's side caring for her with the unconditional love that only a mother can give. She was deeply loved by her father, Pat, whose quiet strength and comforting wisdom were a lifelong source of peace, as well as by her step-parents, Tommy and Victoria, whose love and support helped shape her life.
Lauren’s unwavering support and absolute dedication from her husband, Doug, throughout their marriage, and even more so during these last two years, has been a beautiful example of what love really means. He managed every detail of her care quietly, meticulously and with the utmost compassion. Lauren proudly boasted about him often, and her family is so grateful that his adoration was there to comfort her in her final days.
As the oldest of her siblings, Lauren was a trusted confidante and loving example, and her friendships remained a source of joy and strength throughout her life. Above all, Lauren's greatest pride was her family, and her greatest legacy is the faith, compassion, generosity, resilience, and joy she leaves behind. Though her beautiful voice has grown quiet on earth, its melody will continue to echo in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
Lauren is survived by her husband Doug, sons Jackson and Lucas, mother Susan (Thomas), father Patrick (Victoria), sisters Kathryn (David) and Grace (Sam), nieces Francine and Juno, brother Shea and her four legged sidekick, Lily.
