Kenneth Paul Pattinson Sr., known affectionately as “Big Ken," was born on February 2, 1955, in Darby, PA, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS on April 18, 2024. He was a beloved father, poppi, brother, son, family member and friend. He was known for his love, boisterous laugh, and sense of humor.
Kenneth was a dedicated stagehand for 35 years with IATSE Local 8. His career cultivated an appreciation for theater, music, and travel. He brought his passion and skills to every project he worked on while making friends around the world.
Outside of work, Kenneth found joy in various hobbies and interests. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, visiting the shore, and playing a round of golf with his closest friends. An avid Bruce Springsteen fan, he passed along his love of "The Boss" to his ten children. He also had a fondness for the horse races and proudly supported all Philadelphia sports teams, no matter how disappointing the seasons were.
Big Ken's impact extended beyond his professional and personal interests; it was reflected in the relationships he built throughout his life. In his passing, Ken is reunited with his deceased father, John Pattinson, Sr., mother Ruth Leinhauser, and son Jared James.
He is survived by a loving family who cherished him deeply: Jenna Bruton (daughter), Kyle Pattinson (son), Amanda Pattinson (daughter), Samantha Pattinson (daughter), Kenneth Pattinson, Jr. (son), Briana Pattinson (daughter), Alexa Pattinson (daughter), Shane Pattinson (son), Chase Pattinson (son), Leighton Bruton (grandchild), Everly Bruton (grandchild), Reece Bruton (grandchild), Elodie Pattinson (grandchild) and Jett Pattinson (grandchild) Kenneth is also survived by his nine siblings, Cheryl Harrison (sister), Diane Pattinson Morgan (sister), Gary Pattinson (brother), Jack Pattinson (brother), Gail Pattinson (sister), Sandi Pattinson (sister), Kevin Pattinson (brother), Ralph Pattinson (brother). He is also survived by his former wife, Susan Pattinson (Sage).
He had a magnetic personality that made him easily loved by everyone he met. Ken will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Monday, April 22nd, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Avenue, Morton, PA 19070. There will be a Viewing on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, 233 Mohawk Avenue, Norwood, PA 19074. Interment private.
