Kenneth M. "Kenny" Murtha

Kenneth M. Murtha, 67, of Ridley Township, formerly of Upper Darby Township, passed away on August 10, 2023. He succumbed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family.

Kenneth, lovingly known as Kenny, was born in Philadelphia. He was an alumnus of St. Louis and St. Laurence parochial schools, Monsignor Bonner High School, and Drexel University. He also attended law school at Temple University .

Kenny worked in various professional capacities during his life, but his great love and passion was for music. He was  a guitarist and lead singer for well followed bands in his younger years.  

He wrote and played music all of his life. He could often be found riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved the beach, and spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and family. He was also steadfast in his Catholic faith.

Kenny is predeceased by his loving parents, Kenneth T and Annetta Murtha, (nee Angelaccio), and his dear nephew, Dennis Anthony Carr.

He is survived by his three devoted daughters,
Brianna Murtha (Vasillios Kyramarios), Danielle Syron, and Alexandra Murtha (Nicholas Davis);

His beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Nicholas, Ioannis, and Emma;

His cherished siblings Lisa Carr (Dennis) Michael Murtha (Jeffrey Adkins), and Nadine Murtha (the late Debra),  his niece and nephew Brittany (Damian) and Joshua, as well as numerous cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends.

He will be dearly missed and remembered with love always.

Relatives and friends are invited to His Viewing 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 and to his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
