Kelly L. Freeman, age 81, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on January 10, 2022. Born in Powellsville, NC, he was the son of the late James and Mae Etta Freeman (nee White). He was baptized at and attended Powellsville Baptist Church during his youth. Later in life, he faithfully attended Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, and St. Cyprian’s.
Kelly was employed as an automobile detail mechanic prior to retiring. He loved to have a good time and enjoyed being with family and friends. He loved to fish and hunt. Kelly enjoyed going to the casino and playing the lottery. Kelly was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Eagles, Phillies, and the 76ers.
In addition to his parents, Kelly was predeceased by his brothers James Freeman and Raymond Freeman, and great-grandchild, Jelani Graham.
Kelly leaves to cherish memories: his beloved wife, Margarett (Peggie) L. Freeman (nee Fleming); his loving children Vanessa Wilson (Kenneth), Marvin Hunt (Beatrice Joyner) and Waldence Perry (the late Veronica); his siblings Coy Freeman (Molly), Rosa Green, and Johnnie Ruth Brown (Clamon); grandchildren, Jeffery Graham, Brian Graham, Cordell Graham (Danielle), Marvin Johnson (Chaneasin), Isaiah Perry, Jamilah Moore, and Askari Moore; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Graham, Aniyah Graham, Giovanni Graham, Llamore (LJ) Hand, Cailyn Johnson, and Ashton Johnson; in-laws, Patty Ann Freeman, Angela Freeman, George Fleming (Kim), Clayton Fleming, Scarlett (Viv) Fleming, Teresa Fleming, and Carolyn Fleming, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Kelly’s viewing will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Cyprian Church, 525 Cobbs Creek Parkway, Philadelphia, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.
