Kathleen M. Wynn

August 6, 1938 — April 12, 2026

Kathleen (nee Logue) Wynn

Kathleen M. Wynn, 87, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on April 12, 2026.

Born August 6, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Emma (née Cone) Logue.

Kathleen worked for many years at the Philadelphia Navy Yard before retiring. She also devoted her time to National Foam in Exton and held several secretarial positions for the government. She also served as Assistant Township Secretary for Uwchlan Township in the late 1980s, representing the township in various administrative capacities and contributing to community development during a time of major growth in Chester County. Beyond her administrative work, she was recognized for her long‑term civic involvement in Chester County, most recently serving as an advocate for local land preservation.

Outside of work, her greatest joy — and lifelong passion — was horses. Kathy began riding at Al’s Riding Academy in Roxborough, PA, and loved riding along the Wissahickon Park trails, participating in shows and parades. In the 1960s and early 1970s, she and her husband owned a small farm on Dutton Mill Road near West Chester, where they raised Thoroughbreds and Appaloosas. A few years later, they became the owners of Redwood Farm, a 30‑acre horse farm in Pocopson, Chester County, where Kathy continued her deep love of raising and showing horses.

Over the years, she owned and showed several beloved horses. She began with Frosty Redwood and Redwood Flirt, later enjoying many trail rides and shows on Red Baron, earning trophies and awards with all of them. She eventually moved on to a quarter horse named Sonny, continuing her success in the show ring. Her love of horses was unmistakable — you could feel it the moment you stepped into her home. She moved to Honey Brook in 1998 and lived in a lovely home there for more than twenty years after she retired.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her spouses, James E. MacEwan and Charles Wynn; her daughter, Colleen MacEwan; her son, Patrick MacEwan; her brothers, Daniel A. Logue, Jr. and James G. Logue, Sr.; and her sisters‑in‑law, Evelyn Logue Poe and Lorraine Serfass Logue.

She is survived by her nephews, John Logue and James Logue, Jr.; her nieces, Dianne Allen Minnich and Patricia Rohn; her great‑nephew, John A. Minnich; her great‑nieces, Valerie Hand Gundlach, Amanda Minnich Crider, and Lindsay Minnich; her great‑great‑nephews, Andrew and Michael Crider; and her great‑great‑niece, Ella Minnich.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery.
