Kathleen K. Massey (nee Kunkel), 62, of West Chester, PA passed away on September 26, 2018.
Born in Hartford, CT in 1956, Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late John Robert and Dorothy Agnes (Kozinski) Kunkel.
She graduated from Dickinson College, where she studied Geology, earned her teaching certification at Immaculata College and her Masters in Library Science from Kutztown University. After graduation from Dickinson College, where she was the first female 4 year R.O.T.C Scholarship recipient, Kathy served proudly in the US Army for five years.
Kathy worked in the private industry until 1993, then taught elementary and secondary education in the West Chester Area School District since 1995.
She was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church and also involved with local charities. She also served on the Board of the Brandywine Battlefield Park.
She was the beloved wife of Curtis Massey for over 40 years; loving mother of Alicia Boyer (J.D.), Andrew (Christine) and Kristen; devoted grandmother of Ilana and Julian; dear sister of John Kunkel (Lavonne), Gregg Kunkel, Claudia Brady (Walter) and Connie ver Hagen (Greg).
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA.
Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
