Kathleen "Kathy" Kingsley

Apr 10, 1960 — Jul 9, 2026

Swarthmore, PA

Kathleen "Kathy" Kingsley, beloved for her generous heart and infectious spirit, passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 66.

Born on April 10, 1960, Kathleen was the daughter of Irene Ann (née Martin) Murphy and the late John D. Murphy.

Education was important to Kathy. She was a proud graduate of Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, where she earned her Associates Degree.

Kathy shared a beautiful life with her late husband, Donald, whom she met while they were both working at Cigna. What began as a workplace friendship grew into a lifelong love, and together built a family centered on love, laughter and devotion. They were blessed with three children, who were the pride and joy of their lives.

Kathy went on to a career devoted to educating children with special needs. She served both her students and colleagues with unwavering dedication. Her nurturing and giving spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside her or learning from her. Her commitment to helping those less fortunate went far beyond her vocation—she was the embodiment of generosity, always willing to give without ever seeking anything in return.

Life at the Jersey beach was her happy place, where she reveled in the sea air and cherished carefree moments. Those who knew her describe her as adventurous, always ready for a new experience, and possessed of a unique gift for laughter. Kathy was the life of every party—not because she demanded attention, but because she spread happiness effortlessly. Her favorite drink, a Tito’s with water and two lemons, was her signature drink she enjoyed, a simple pleasure that, like much of her life, was both unique and memorable.

She was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loving partner whose greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Wawa” and “Lubby”, names that reflected the special bond she shared with each of them. Her love, warmth, and gentle spirit created countless treasured memories that her grandchildren will carry with them forever. She also shared a deep and loving relationship with her significant other, Joe Joe. Together, they embraced life's adventures, especially their love of traveling, while creating lasting memories with the grandchildren they both adored. Joe Joe’s love and devotion to her, as well as his unwavering affection for the children, brought immeasurable happiness to their family. Her legacy of love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Kathy was the beloved wife of the late Donald Kingsley; the loving mother of Bryan Kingsley, Kristen A. Kingsley (Joseph Billingley) and Kathleen C. Taylor (PJ). She was the devoted and affectionate grandmother of her six grandchildren, PJ, Kaeden, Liam, Wren, Parker, and Hayes. Kathy is also survived by her dear siblings, Carol Murphy Turner (Leroy), John D. Murphy (Joanne), and Maryellen Waterloo (Joe), as well as her caring significant other, Joseph Moran. She also leaves behind a vast number of fond past students, families, and colleagues.
