Surrounded by her family, Kathleen E. (McCabe) Kane, 90, passed away peacefully in her home on May 11, 2023, exactly four years after her beloved husband of 65 years, Vincent R. Kane Sr. “Betty” is the loving mother of Mary Kathleen Kane, Michael (Alicia) Kane, Monica (the late John) McLaverty, Sarah (Stephan) Kane-Lewis, Vincent R. (Sue) Kane, Jr., Theresa (Brian) Kane-Mackenzie, James Kane, and Joseph Kane; Faithful sister of Bernadette Bracilli; Devoted grandmother to Erin (James), Siena (Greg), Matthew, Monica (Dan), Timothy (Beth), Kellie (Kevin), Kathleen (Chase), Marybeth (Carlton), Bridget, Kirsten, Meghan (Tom), Conor, Brendan, Liam, Sarah, Brian, Joseph Jr., Morgan, Vincent & Ava; and joy-filled great-grandmother to Samuel, Joanna, Isaiah, Gabriel, Cora, Grace, John, Keira, Callie, Karsen, Raiden, Thomas, Joseph & Ian.

Betty was born on November 13, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James and Kathryn McCabe. She graduated from West Catholic High School and sharpened her many business skills before meeting and marrying Vincent, a WWII veteran, on December 26, 1953.

She loved reading, recipes, relaxing at the beach and her Catholic faith. She cherished her 8 children, 20 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Betty's life work was serving others, which she did with extraordinary love. Our Mom & "Mom Mom" showed us, with sincerity and simplicity, what it means to give, and we treasure her memory in our hearts and lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Dorothy’s Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m, which will be livestreamed here: https://www.youtube.com/@saintdorothyparish3153/streams. Private interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, an offering in Mrs. Kane's name to Veterans Fund for Homeless and Hospice Services, c/o Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE19805, www.pay.gov/public/form/start/48119268 (http://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/48119268), would be appreciated.
