Kathleen Callaghan

Kathleen Callaghan (nee Crossan), age 71, of Havertown, PA, formerly of Trentagh, County Donegal, Ireland, Passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Born in Soccer, County Donegal, Ireland. Before Kathleen left Ireland she worked at Kelly’s in Letterkenny, Ireland, for several years where she was held at very high regards. Kathleen came to the Upper Darby Section of Philadelphia, at age 20, where she started working at O’Malley’s, then started her own cleaning business and then moved on to home health care.

Kathleen was a person who put her needs aside to take care of everyone else around her. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was dedicated to her three sons, her family, and her work. Kathleen was a great wife, wonderful mother, Granny, sister, Aunt, daughter, friend, and a wonderful person inside and out. She excelled at motherhood, involved in all of her children’s activities. She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. Kathleen was big hearted, generous, loving, and caring. She enjoyed attending mass, walking, singing, Irish music, entertaining, & spending time with her family. Kathleen always had an open door policy, a tasty meal was always prepared, tea and biscuits were always ready.

Kathleen is survived by her loving children Aidan Callaghan, Shane Callaghan (Caoimhe), and Kevin Callaghan, Her grandchildren Eoin, Ger, Emmett, Fiontan & Abigail Callaghan. Also survived by her siblings Carmel Boyce (Barney), Patsy Crossan (Pauline), Ann Marie Boyce (the late Joseph), Daniel Crossan, John Crossan (Monica), Bernadette O’Donnell, Josephine Callaghan (the late Kieran) and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Gabriel Callaghan, her father Connell Crossan and mother Sadie Crossan (nee Doherty), her grandson Liam Michael Callaghan, her brother Jim Crossan Brother in Law’s Joseph Boyce & Kieran Callaghan, Sister in law’s Helen Crossan and Elizabeth Crossan Murtha.

Relatives and friends are invited to Kathleen's Viewing Wednesday, February 7th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 8:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083.
