Justine Adams

Justine “Jazz” Adams, longtime resident of Newtown Square, PA, a beloved figure in her community, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the age of 100.

Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Herbert and Mary Alice (née Naulty) Hawthorn.

Justine spent her life enriching the lives of those around her through her love of books and knowledge in her career as a librarian. She worked tirelessly to foster a love of reading in others, believing that books were gateways to new worlds and ideas.

Justine was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Adams; the loving mother of Robert F. Adams (Shawnmarie) and the late Katherine Adams; the devoted grandmother of Alexandra Rae, Patrick Andrew, and Reece Forrest. She is also survived by multiple cousins. Justine is predeceased by her brother, Buddy Hawthorn.

Relatives and friends are invited to remember Justine at her Viewing on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 9:30 am to 10:30 am at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Service beginning at 10:30 am. Interment thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
