Joyce Ann Lazos

Joyce Ann Lazos, 58, of Downingtown, PA, passed away January 25, 2024 after a years-long fight against ovarian cancer. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving husband, family, friends and pets.

Born June 16, 1965 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Marguerite Colwell.  Raised in the City of Brotherly Love, she moved to Downingtown in the 1980s, where Joyce put her exceptional business skills to good use serving as a Human Resources Manager for many years at several large Chester County companies including Jefferson Bank, Krapf Bus, and A. Duie Pyle, among others. Many local residents will remember Joyce as their local Avon Representative, a role she enjoyed and held until recently. 

We will miss Joyce’s bright smile, love of animals (especially of her cats, affectionally called her “girls,” her ferrets & her dog), her sharp wit, and fierce loyalty to those she loved. Joyce was her own person, a unique soul we were blessed to know and love.

Joyce was the beloved wife of Alex M. Lazos and dear sister of Linda Colwell-Smith, Emily Snyder, James Colwell (Donna), and Margaret Colwell-Stingel (Kevin), and loved by many nieces and nephews, who survive her.  She is predeceased by one sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by her Funeral Service at 4:00 PM.
