Joyce A. Allen (nee Webster) age 91, of Newtown Square, Pa (formerly Long Beach Island, NJ) passed away on July 5.
Beloved
wife to the late Keith Allen of nearly 66 years. Joyce is also predeceased by her son-in-law Jon Rogers, her sister June Hearn and brother Gerald Webster.
She is the beloved mother of Bradford Allen (Kathleen), Traci Rogers, and Blake Allen (Mollie).
Loving Grandmother of Chelsea, Shay, Jillian and Chase.
Joyce was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she met Keith the love of her life on a blind date.
They married in 1948 and traveled across Canada and the USA as Keith's hockey career continued.
They eventually settled in Bryn Mawr, Pa, when Keith joined the Philadelphia Flyers in 1966.
Joyce was a true hockey wife, never missing a game and always supporting her team and all its players and their wives like a second Mom.
She was a gracious hostess, a very generous, fun and loving person and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service for Joyce will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in her name be made to the Flyers Charities 3601 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148 would be appreciated.
