Josephine M. Amarant (nee DeVitis), age 89, of Wayne, PA, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on June 13, 2018.
Born in Wayne, PA in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Chiara (nee Donato) DeVitis. Josie was a graduate of Radnor High School. She worked for many years with Bell Telephone and AT&T, but what she loved most was helping to care for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Josie was extremely loving and devoted to her family. The care she showed her family was the very definition of Love. She was the matriarch of her family, always assuring that she took care of her loved ones.
Josie was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Amarant, Sr., with whom she shared 39 years of marriage; loving mother of Marianne Irwin (George), Robert Amarant, Jr. (Aimee), Ronald Amarant (June), and Steven Amarant (Lisa); adoring grandmother of Kristin, Lauren, Carly, Alison, Julia, Jessica, Will, Caroline, and Bobby; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Coccagna, Grace Skatz, and Donato and Domenick DeVitis.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:30-10:50 AM Monday, June 18, 2018 at Our Lady of Assumption Church in the Sacred Heart Chapel, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM.
Interment Calvary Cemetery.
