Joseph Robert Tucker passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and countless lives touched by his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
Joe was the beloved son of the late Florence and James Tucker. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Tucker (Dee), and is survived by his loving brother, Jim and sister-in-law, Janet Tucker.
Above all, Joe was a devoted father to his sons, Joey (Lauren) and Michael (Alison).
His greatest joy in life was being “JoJo” to his five grandchildren: Emily (9), Thomas (6), Brynn (5), Lyla (2), and Liam (1). Whether he was coloring pictures, watching Emily play basketball or simply spending time with them, his grandchildren were the light of his life.
Joe was also a proud Uncle to many nieces and nephews including Sean (Paula), Jaime, Kimberly (Brian) and Diva, and was honored to serve as Sean’s godfather—a role he treasured and embraced with love. He also leaves behind his dear friend, Gaylnn.
Joe was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and Ursinus College, where he proudly played football throughout his high school and college years. Following graduation, he entered the insurance industry, established his own agency, and enjoyed a long and successful career. Joe also found great joy in coaching CYO football at Our Lady of Fatima in Secane and St. Agnes in West Chester, positively impacting the lives of many young athletes.
Joe was well known throughout the community as an exceptional baseball umpire. His fairness, integrity, and love for the game earned him the respect of players, coaches, and fellow officials alike. Off the field, he was a loyal Phillies and Sixers fan who never missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.
Those who knew Joe will remember him as a loyal friend, a loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle, godfather, father, and JoJo. He was someone who could always be counted on with a smile, a helping hand, or words of encouragement. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
