Joseph V. Newman, Jr., age 83, of Berwyn, PA passed away on July 25, 2026. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Jane Frances (nee McFarlin) and Joseph V. Newman, Sr.

Joe’s early years were distinguished by a relentless pursuit of knowledge. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 1964, an achievement that laid the groundwork for future successes. His intellectual curiosity and ambition then led him to the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, where he attained his Master of Business Administration in 1966. This robust academic foundation fueled a career in advertising and public relations.

As President of Wright Associates, Joe became a respected figure in his field, known both for his visionary leadership and his unwavering integrity. Colleagues and clients alike recall a man whose professionalism was always matched by kindness and a generous spirit. Under his stewardship, Wright Associates became synonymous with creativity, trust, and innovation.

Yet, the truest measure of Joe’s legacy lies not only in professional accolades, but in the compassionate service he devoted to his community after retirement. Ever the mentor, Joe volunteered at George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science, dedicating himself to guiding the next generation. He offered steadfast support to students navigating the complexities of college selection, essays, mock interviews, and applications. In this nurturing role, Joe touched countless lives, shaping futures with patience, insight, and encouragement.

Through all facets of his life, Joe embodied a thoughtful commitment to excellence and decency. His positivity and sense of humor brought joy to everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy that endures—not only through professional triumphs, but through the lives of students, colleagues, family and friends transformed by his wisdom and care.

Joe was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Newman (nee Hall); loving father of Joseph V. Newman, III, Katherine L. Nadel (Jordan), and Mary E. Lawson (Andy); adoring grandfather of A.J., Ryan, and Evan Nadel, Thaddeus and Quintin Lawson, and Manjari and Ashmit Newman; caring brother of Janellen Green (George) and Richard Newman.
