Joseph M. Long, age 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 22, 2018.
Beloved husband of Catherine (nee Harley) for 64 years.
Loving father of Maureen Russell and Eileen Fitzgerald (Bob).
Cherished Pop-Pop of Colin, Patrick and Michael Russell, and Brittany and Kristin Fitzgerald.
Predeceased by his brother Richard (Jeanie) and sister Eileen Caroline (Bill).
Joe graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
A Korean War veteran, Joe served in the Merchant Marines as a ships engineer and served in the U.S. Navy as the Engineering Officer aboard a Naval Fleet Oiler.
In 1973, he became the President of the Allen-Sherman Hoff Company in Wynnewood and Malvern, PA.
Joe was an avid golfer and a member of Waynesborough Country Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday, August 28, 2018 10:00-11:00 AM Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
