Joseph A. “Joe” Gumminger, of Newtown Square, PA, sadly passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Margaret (née Lapps) Gumminger.
Joe was the beloved husband of Lisa A. (née Kozak) Gumminger, the loving father of Joseph Nicholas Gumminger and Aaron Gumminger. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Karen Ford (John), Anita Gumminger, and Erik Gumminger, as well as his dear nieces & nephews.
Joe dedicated his life to his work as a commercial truck driver in the trucking industry before he retired. He was a passionate cook and found great delight in preparing meals for his friends and family. His kitchen was a place of love and laughter, where he would host gatherings with the purpose of making everyone around him feel cherished. Joe's warmhearted nature and inclusive spirit made every gathering memorable, leaving an indelible mark on all who were lucky enough to partake in his hospitality.
Among his fondest memories were the countless road trips he took with his family, where the journey was just as treasured as the destination. He found joy in the serene beauty of the Jersey shore, a place that held a special spot in his heart.
Joe will be remembered for his warmth and generosity and kindness to others and his sense of humor was touched by all who knew him. He was well loved and shared a great bond with his family. He was a devoted husband and best friend of 32 years with his wife Lisa, and was proud of his two boys and loved to watch them grow into true gentlemen.
His loving memory will be cherished and Joe will be missed by many, especially his family.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date by his family.
