Joseph J. Del Viscio

December 29, 1950 — February 27, 2024

Morton

Joseph DelViscio of Morton, PA was called back to embrace of his creator on February 27th 2024 surrounded by his family at the University of Penn Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was 73 years old.

Son, brother, husband, father, carpenter, avid Philadelphia sports fan, and stalwart pillar of the DelViscio family.

Joseph was a devoted husband to his wife Gail DelViscio. Proud father to his sons Daniel of Prospect Park, PA and Robert (Monica) of Atlantic Beach, FL. In addition, to his mother Mary DelViscio, he is survived by his loving siblings Edward DelViscio (Diane), Jeanne Hayes (Tom), Tony DelViscio (Theresa), Daniel DelViscio (Jean), Bob DelViscio (Diane), and Joanne Conner (George).  He is also survived and beloved by 12 nieces and nephews. He joins his father Edward and sister Norma DelViscio (Deceased).

Joseph was born in Philadelphia on December 29th, 1950 to Edward and Mary DelViscio. As a young boy he and his family moved from Philadelphia to Morton into the house that his grandfather built in 1949. From then on Joe’s life was immersed in the craft of carpentry as he went on to enroll in a trade school in 1968. His skill grew to a mastery of the vocation resulting in becoming a bottomless resource for his friends and family to help build their own lives around their own families. Joe’s prowess in the calling of woodworking was a gift from God that he shared with many; and in doing has left physical reminders of his skill and kindness to all those he worked with and for. These gifts will continue to remind us of his memory and that he will continue to support us in the years to come.

Along the journey of his life, he met the love of his life, Gail in August, 1966. He married Gail on May 5th 1973 and they spent 50 loving years together going on to raise a family that will continue to miss and cherish him long after his passing. His mother, brothers, and sisters will always remember the man who was their son and brother. The man who helped them build the lives they will continue to enjoy as the years pass into the future.
