John P “Jack” Morrissey, 91, died peacefully on July 25, 2025, in his hometown of West Chester.
Jack was born August 23, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY to parents William & Marie. He lived his early years in Buffalo NY, attending Canisius High School & Canisius College. He served as an officer and paratrooper in the United States Army during the Korean War time frame. Jack later moved to West Chester where he acquired Community Pontiac-Buick, an agency he operated until his retirement. He was a pilot and flight instructor, and served as Vice Chairman of the Chester County Area Airport Authority for 22 years. He was a member of Chester County Skating Club and served as President of the club for four years. He was an avid fisherman and fished the South Jersey Shore for many years. He loved the game of golf and was a member of Penn Oaks Golf Club. Jack loved his friends in all these places. He was a proud father to Missy, Susan, Meg (Malcolm), and John; caring grandfather of Charlotte, Alex, and Greta; and dear brother of Mary Brinkworth. He will be dearly missed. Jack was predeceased by his brother Bill and his partner Maryellen O’Dwyer.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-11:00 AM, Monday, August 18, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester PA 19382, followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
