John J Lawler Jr. age 80 of Cape May Court House NJ and formerly of Philadelphia PA, Anglesea NJ, and Naples FL. John passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026. He was the son of John and Marion (O,Brien) Lawler and was born on May 23,1946. John was preceded in death by his wife Carol.
John was an 1964 graduate of Mercy Technical School in Philadelphia and after graduation he was employed by Eastern Air Lines working in the Maintenace Department. He worked continuously with Eastern until their closing in 1991. After their closing, John joined St Joseph University working in the Security Department until he retired. He also worked as a part time employee at the Masonic Lodge in the heart of Philadelphia.
John loved his time as a member of the Moose Lodge #585, Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge #1896 and the Ancient Hibernians (AOH) division 1. John was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. John is survived by many cousins, including his care givers Dee DeBaecke and Dan Fleming, and his friend Catherine.
Service will include a Mass of Christian burial at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood NJ on October 16, 2026, 11:00 am. Following the Mass, friends and family are cordially invited to gather for celebration of John’s Life at the Elks #1896, 109 West 1st Avenue, North Wildwood, New Jersey.
