John J. "Jack" Lynch, a longtime resident of Havertown, PA, passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Grace (née Magie) Lynch.
Jack was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. His military service shaped his character and instilled in him the virtues of dedication and service to others. Following his military service, he transitioned into a successful career as a traffic manager in the transportation industry, where he was known for his professionalism and ability to connect with others in a meaningful way.
Outside of work and service, Jack was a people person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Known for his warm smile and infectious laugh, he brought joy to many lives. Family meant everything to Jack, and he especially cherished the time spent playing with his grandchildren, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
His community involvement was equally commendable. Jack was a Life Member of the Catholic War Veterans of Havertown and dedicated fifty years of service as an usher at Sacred Heart Church, where he was a vital presence for parishioners. His commitment to his faith and community exemplifies the values he lived by.
Jack also enjoyed the simpler pleasures in life, finding joy in spending time at Sea Isle City along the Jersey shore. These moments were a vital part of his life, nurturing his spirit and creating treasured times with his loved ones. He embraced the rhythms of big band music, dancing, and shuffleboard, activities that brought him genuine joy and reflected his spirited personality.
Jack was the beloved husband of the late Patricia M. (née Coughlin) Lynch; the loving father of Maureen Holdredge (Scott), John Lynch (Nancy), Paul Lynch (Alice), and the late Carol DiTullio (Al). He was the proud and caring grandfather of Julie Holdredge, Kim Holdredge, Katie DiNardo (Mike), Sara Nutt (Tyler), Grace Lynch, and great-grandfather of Sophia Nutt and Jamison Nutt. Jack is also survived by his sister, Patricia Leonard.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jack's life at his funeral services. A Viewing will take place on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
