John C. Hemcher

John C. Hemcher, 76, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on August 20, 2026. 

Born August 1, 1950 in Bryn Mawr, PA., he was the son of the late John P. Hemcher and Eleanor (nee Manley) Hemcher.

John worked as a purchasing manager for the American Institute for CPCU for 30 years.

John was an avid car enthusiast going back to his days in high school.  He owned numerous classic cars  and you could always find him in his garage waxing a car for an upcoming car show.  Although he and his wife Sue enjoyed traveling, John was a true homebody and enjoyed the simpler things in life.  He took great pride in his home and was meticulous with his lawn and property .  Above all, John enjoyed spending time with his dogs. His day with Sue always started with a 5 mile walk with the dogs and it was truly the highlight of his day.

John was the beloved husband of 41 years of Susan (nee Sliva) Hemcher; and the very proud uncle of Stephanie Todaro and husband Craig, Jessica Gondek and husband Brian, James Hemcher and wife Trisha, Deborah Lis Mitchell and husband Charlie and Andrew Lis as well as 10 great nieces and nephews and a great great niece.  He is also survived by his siblings James Hemcher, Sharon Hemcher Krikorian and Philip Hemcher.

Services will be private.
